We haven’t posted the many reviews we get for a long time however we think this is important
My friend, David, passed away one year ago. As Executor, I was faced with duties which took 8 months to complete! From cremation to estate settlement, and probation in the courts I faced daunting tasks. The staff at Thai888 Law Co. was extremely helpful. They guided me through each stage with professional and friendly support. Jeab , Kelvin and staff are to be thanked and I would recommend them to anyone facing this situation. Doug B.
Thailand is still going through the slow grinding process of trying to open up to overseas travels after Covid. Everyday there is another story or plan, and in the meantime business are going bankrupt of are closing for good. Thai888 Law does the accounts for many businesses and its not pretty. Many of our good friends have packed up and gone home and some cannot return due to quarantine or insurance standard they cannot meet.
How can Thai888 Law help
Here are some of the issues we are working on at the moment. Buy and sell contracts when the seller cannot fly into Thailand. Friend of family member dies and family doesn’t know where to start with the red tape, Police, Embassy, Hospitals, Insurance, Funeral. Company accounts all due now and if you don’t pay you will be fined. Common fees on properties are due and we can pay them. Living Wills and Last Wills for planning ahead. Applying to the courts for the estate after you have passed away. Locally, some are still getting fined for overstaying their visas, opening bars outside of hours, accidents. And in these cases we can assist you.
Covid and the Courts
In some respects there has been some advantage as people cannot fly in without quarantine and so a Power of Attorney (POA) can be arranged and I or a member of Thai888 Law can represent you in court. Before the Judge would not allow this, however now, if the documents are in order then it is possible for us to go to court and get a grant without you leaving home. The savings are enormous as there are no airfares, hotel costs, quarantine costs and you’re in a non English speaking country and all docs are in Thai, therefore more costs for translators and interpreters.

Alzheimer’s who will help out. How to make a Will directive for carers.
Thai888 Law knows what to do.
I tend to forget sometimes that I am dealing with real living people and their emotions and bodies. Making a Will or enforcing a Living Will after doing it hundreds of times makes it sometimes impersonal and robot-like. After all, it is a legal document. But for some they want their legacy to live on through a charity or helping their Thai partner, their family or sometimes even the gardener or the cook.
When a Will is made it normally stats that the person making it is of sound mind. However, my experience lately is that some of my clients have or are developing Alziemers. These people are elderly and living alone.
Alzheimer’s is a dreadful decease and most debilitating. And the worst is that each day it shows and the person forgets many things, even why they are in my office.
The disease gets to a point where the person needs 24-hour care. Care that is not really available in Thailand and so the person takes whatever assistance they can get. Someone to just be there in case.
The carer may mean well but they have no experience in looking after someone with Alzheimer’s. None.
I am not saying this of all carers but one client has an awful lot of money missing from their account. The carer was given the PIN number and access as sometimes the client cannot get out of bed and needs supplies. Each day several withdrawals have been made.
A lot of trust is needed here. It’s not easy and what else can one do in this situation?
If you know someone in this position then get them to make a Will whilst they are still competent.
Also, try to make them understand that someone needs to look after their accounts, someone trustworthy.
If the person has a large estate or more than 2 bank accounts, get them to start reducing all things down to a manageable size. 2 bank books – 1 fixed interest and the other day to day should be enough. And don’t forget the 800K in the bank for Immigration. And to go every 90 days and to apply for your visa every 12 months.
Not easy when you can’t remember much at all.
I did not ever expect this to be part of my job. However, I can help in a few ways. I am the controller of property for may clients, meaning that should something happen I can control the asset if it is for a person under 20 years old.
I can help if you have a Living Will or the Last Will and I am the Executor.
I cannot help if you have nothing in place and no next of kin.
Therefore I ask you to make a Will and make sure that a trusted 3rd party has your access codes and PIN numbers – and I don’t mean the gardener or the cook as the temptation is too great.
A tough time for all involved and particularly as Gordon Halpin AKA “Galloper” and his wife Judy were friend of over 8 years.
As friends, we assisted from the beginning at the hospital, with the insurance company from Australia, the Police, and used Thai888 Law to arrange the funeral, cremation, insurance claim, and Probate. It was a very big day and thanks to all our staff and friends for making it so.
Here is the funeral of a big day for big Mr G at 6 foot 6 inches tall.
The Ministry of Public Health, healthcare bodies and political parties have been urged to do more to the public on patients’ right to reject medical treatment and a peaceful death and reduced health care…
Thai888 Law have upgrade out Living Will format to Switzerland standards. There is now a indemnity disclaimer to cover the Surrogate and the medical staff. Also a clause that allows the hospital to give “the Surrogate” the Testators hospital records. Please see Thai888 Law and Funeral Services should you want to make a Thai Living Will. Hospitals in the Chonburi area have confirmed our Living Wills comply with Thai Law Statute 12 and will accept it. However they request that you make and sign a copy of your passport and submit it to the hospital with your Living Will to put on file.
Law, Lawyer, repatriation, services, Will, Living Will, Law firm, Attorney, Solicitor, Funeral. All in the one company and guaranteed to save you time and money. One phone call or email is the start. If you cannot come to Thailand for any reason then we can do everything for you. The Embassy, Police, Hospital, Cremation, Repatriation, then wrap up the estate with a court order.
This link is about a young couple and although married the husband had the mortgage loan in his name and NO WILL. Thai888 Law CEO does regular talks on why you need a Will.
In every presentation I do I request people to make a Will and they normally say I don’t have anything to benefit anyone – Well how wrong you can be as everyone has spent their life building something. Whether it be a bank account, a house, a business, a family it has taken years of hard sweat and time invested. Just being you on 100’s of databases needs fixing other wise bills could still be coming in and someone has to pay them!
The story below is tragic and as I tell my staff at Thai888 Legal – you need to think like a bank to fix probate problems – don’t think with your heart as the banks and other corporations don’t. They simply want their money and don’t care about you, the kids or where you end up.
Below is a classic example on why you need a Will and Testament and preferably one for Thailand and one for your country where some other assets might be. Thai888 Law can make a Will for you and have it Notarised for your country and its perfectly legal. For a checklist just click here and email me. Its free so don’t worry.
Our client wanted to post this however did not have a Google account and so they have allowed me to post it here.
Hello again Mr. Bamfield, It is my pleasure to hear from you again, and my honor to write a review for you. I am going to send you the review, in red, in this email, for you to look over.
So my question to you is: is there somebody in your Thai888 Law and Funeral Services Company / office that can post this review using their Google account? My review is truly heartfelt, and will come across as such, so I do not think that the user name would be an issue. I think any first name would be fine, without the need to use a last name. If that is a problem, I will get another SIM card and open the Google account. I want to do this and I will get it done, so please inform on this point.
Here is the review. I put much thought into this because I wanted the review to have an impact.
Thank you also for the Pattaya City expat club recommendation. I will urge Diane to attend it on Sunday (I am currently in Rayong, as Diane went to Pattaya for an art class).
REVIEW: Attorneys, dentists, and mechanics : We all need them, but negative stereotypes and past experiences have led us to subconsciously to avoid them, until absolutely necessary. As overseas expats, this problem is compounded by both the language barrier and general unfamiliarity of being in a foreign country.
In the West, people hold their breath nervously, as each second that passes in consultation with a lawyer costs serious money (along with any follow-up correspondence from even low level people). The exact opposite is true here: I was quite surprised at how generous Kelvin was with his time, out of basic human kindness. In fact, Kelvin even contacted local authorities about a unique situation that I had, without even being asked to do so, at no cost to me. All costs were more than reasonable, and spelled out clearly. Other law offices that I had misfortune of dealing with wanted exorbitant fees for even the simplest of paperwork, simply because they could get away with it in a foreign land, and because they spoke English.
Of course, having the job done correctly is the primary concern, and I was impressed with his attention to detail. My gut feeling tells me that this will be done right. I also know that he is reachable and responsive at all times, should I need to contact him. Kelvin has been here for 19 years, so he knows the lay of the land quite well. Did I mention how genuinely warm, friendly, and human he was? Again, that is one of those gut feel issues that intuitive people latch onto.
I never thought that I would be honored to write an upbeat appraisal for someone doing this Probate work, but here we are. Now if I could only find an honest dentist…?
