Corona Virus tough times to deal with a loved one passing. In the passed 2 weeks THai888 Law and Abroad Funerals have received calls from distraught families that, due to no flights, could not attend the funerals or cremation. We arranged everything to their wishes and provided a live video feed to them. Then docs we translated and sent to countries like Germany, Spain, UK, USA. The CV19 has certainly made things difficult however we are resourceful and received some very nice reviews about our work. We have a good team of people working together in this very difficult time and so contact us should you need us email@example.com
I am happy to say that Thai888 and Abroad are open and staff are fully employed. We are busy and have been rotating staff so that they can abide by the lockdown and visit their parents as 2 staff are now.
We have done 5 funerals in a week, all in the Pattaya area and NOT from corona virus but rather cancers. Still one of the leading causes of death around the World. With the lockdown it has been difficult to get to the Government Departments needed to supply the right documents to us.
Thai888 Law is proud to say that our last 2 Probate cases have been won based on our Will formats and our knowledge of “meta Data” in media. In short when you make a Will with us then we take your picture to prove that you were competent when you signed the document. If not and you should die then the courts may challenge the Testators competency.
Also I have a few nice recommendations for us CV19 and Thai888 Law Abroad Funerals Pattaya
Les Edmonds Probably the best law firm for honest impartial help & advice. Have total trust in them.2Delete, hide or report this
It is perfectly legal in Thailand to have a Living Will. However you need to be aware that it is a directive that you set up before hand to tell the doctors, hospital, staff NOT TO keep you alive on a machine, NOT TO force feed you, etc. It is not to tell the hospital that you are sick of living and want them to terminate your life by drugs or another method.
There are 2 legal conditions that activate the LW
You must be in a terminal phase of illness ie cancer and dying or brain dead after a stroke or accident. Health Act part 12.
The person you had sign your Will as the Surrogate must meet with the hospital and staff and show them the legal signed Living Will otherwise if no Will then you could remain on life support for a long time and this is expensive.
Spend small money to make a document to stop paying big money strapped to a machine later.
Read this artical from the Bangkok Post. The old age care home is something else and I know of a few around Pattaya and Hua Hin.
A stay in hospital could run at 70,000 baht per day and this will soon deplete your savings. This is not to say you should not be in hospital seeking treatment, however you might get the same treatment at another hospital much cheaper. But without having a directive of some kind there is no way your proxy can have you moved to a cheaper hospital. You are powerless.
Due to my business I cannot be in this state and so have personally left a Last and Living Will. Perhaps you should consider the worst case scenario to prepare for (and hope it never happens) but still you have the docs in place if needed. firstname.lastname@example.org
Sorry to say that Tour groups have stopped coming to Thailand until the 4th Feb 2020 in an attempt to contain this virus.
I have been reading about it for a week now and in particular the CDC reports and some old SARS reports from people that were closely involved 17 years ago.
What can you do?
There are a combination of things however with a virus some advice is to wash your hand all the time. Try not to touch your face or eyes. I have been avoiding places that host tourists and tours ie hotels, tourist attractions, etc.
Personally, it reminds me that we will not be here forever and so get your house in order. Meaning that you should have documents that direct others to your wishes should something happen to you.
I know this sounds like a cheap plug for us and thats why I say you do not have to make your Wills with Thai888 Law. You can go anywhere but please make something.
If you dont know how to make one or what to say, contact me for a checklist.

living Will and last Will is a must have in Thailand – its much cheaper than laying in hospital racking up huge bills
Its only Jan and such bad news – air breathing mask
Wow trying to stay positive however the air quality is very very bad and so you should have a breathing mask if you are outside for any length of time.
Air purifier for home or office
These are good machines as they detect bad air and filter it – you will sleep better and also give your lungs 7-8 hours to recover.
Air pollution, Chinese Corona Virus, Economy
Not looking good at all – many expats doing it tough as their currency is down against the Thai Baht. This means some are cutting back on necessities. However you should make a Will – this is cheap compared to the costs incurred if you don’t have one
This is happening now. A young man laying in hospital in a coma from a bike accident. There is no Living Will or Thailand Last Will, therefore no one can make decisions about this young mans future. There is no next of kin (NOK) and so the Embassy has to nominate someone to make decisions for this man via a power of attorney POA. The person nominated may be simply getting on with their life and may not need this responsibility. They may not want to travel to Thailand to take care of this case. Because when you think of it there is added expense, work and family disruption, airfares/hotel/taxi/translator and doing extremely difficult legal work in Thailand. The cost per day in the ICU hospital is 70,000 baht per day however if this young man had of made a Living or Last Will then someone could have managed this situation. For example the patient could have been moved to another (international) hospital at 40,000 baht per day. But unfortunately this is not the case. No documents and the patient just lies there.
Last Will Living Will Thai888 Law
Making a Last or Living Will is not about age as this person is in his 40’s and I have another friend in hospital with a stroke (age 43) – If you are riding a motor bike in Then this is the number 1 killer on the roads – you are gambling and need to make preparations with a Will – its not expensive. You may say “oh I dont have anything” and this is not true. You have your body and if something happens like the above someone needs to make decisions for you.
You may think “oh its easier for someone else to look after” not true as the situation above is costing 70,000 baht per day. This burden belongs to someone
Every Sunday at the Holiday inn the PCEC has breakfast and a guest speaker
Be there as no need to become a member
Thai888 Law & Abroad Funerals are at the PCEC every Sunday morning Holiday Inn Beach Road 10am.
If you have not been to a PCEC meeting then shame on you. It is in a beautiful venue with 3 large screens for slides of video to assist the speaker. I have done several presentations there and love it. Breakfast, if you want, is 250 baht, fresh bakery, juices, eggs, fruit, salad, bacon, noodles, etc. Membership if you want is around 400 baht per year and goes to running the club. Volunteers do most of the work.
Ren Lexander PCEC volunteer
Ren stood up to the plate when another Member Laurie passed away. Apart from a fantastic variety of guest speakers Ren is not shy with the microphone and presenting himself. This happened last Sunday where a scheduled guest speaker could not make it. Ren gave one of the best presentations of the year, if not the best. It was very informative and showed many different ways of thinking from the Thai people and Westerners.
Some say they dont have many assets but in reality you are the asset and should you pass away in Thailand as an alien then friends family and the various governments and the courts have to decide what to do with you. Sometimes things go like clock work and other times not. This is the nature of Murphys Law and what can go wrong at that time. Thai888 Law has years of experience in these matters and can assist you in writing a Will, Funeral Services, all the legals as the matter has to eventually go to court. Chasing down assets and returning them to the family or friends is what we do. It can take years but we normally win. Thanks to Dr. Ren for playing the witness and the PCEC for the fantastic job they do for expats in Pattaya.
